Abstract
825,631. Haymaking. VAN DER LELY N. V., C. Feb. 15, 1956 [March 10, 1955], No. 4748/56. Class 6(3). A hay-tedder has a pair of tedding units 60, 61 which may either be aligned to deliver crop along the line of travel of the machine, Fig. 1, or angled so as to deliver crop obliquely, Fig. 4. The machine comprises a frame 4, 9, 10, 11 mounted on tractor draught-links 2, 3, 5. The tedding unit 60 comprises a series of rotors on a shaft carried by a frame 30, the shaft being driven from the tractor power-take-off through a layshaft 15, and belt-drive 28 to a vertical shaft 26 which drives the rotor-shaft through bevel-gears. The unit 61 is driven through a dog-clutch 70, 71 from the unit 60. When the units are aligned they are attached to the frame-member 11 by links 55, 50. To move the units into the position shown in Fig. 4. the link 55 is removed and the units swung about the hinge 42A until bevel gears 73A, 74A, co-axial with the dogs 70 ; 71, are in mesh. A link 75A is then attached between the members 11 and 30.
