A windrower, comprising a frame 10 carrying a cutter-bar 17, a reel 14 and a laterally-discharging endless apron 11, is mounted rigidly on the outer ends of a pair of arms 22, the other ends of which are pivoted to brackets 23 secured to the rear axle of a tractor, the frame being floatingly suspended by springs 26 from the power-lift arms 27 of the tractor, which are not used for lifting the frame. The reel, cutter, and apron are driven from the power take-off through a shaft 12 and chain-drives 13, 15. A hand-operated lifting quadrant 31 is connected by a link 30 to the arm 22 so that the machine may be lifted by hand.
