Abstract
759,451. Lawn-mowers. SHANKS & SON, Ltd., A. Nov. 13, 1954, No. 32952/54. Class 6 (2). In a gang mower consisting of an odd number of mowing machines towed by a motor vehicle the gang is arranged with one machine leading the other machines of the gang and the leading mowing machine 1 is provided with a rigid frame 2 adapted to be coupled to the vehicle, the axle 6 of the ground wheels 7 of the machine being provided at its ends with coaxial extensions 8 which project outwardly from the wheels and to which equal numbers of mowing machines are connected. As shown, the mowers 11 are connected to extensions 13 on the axles of mowers 10. In a modification the extensions 8 of the axles 6 pass through tubular extensions carrying the ground wheels and the mowers 10 are provided with extensions 13 projecting from both wheels, a mower being connected to each extension.
