Abstract

825,579. Two-part couplings. ROLLSROYCE Ltd. Jan. 28, 1958 [Jan. 28, 1957], No. 3041/57. Class 38 (1). The plug 11 and socket 10, Fig. 1, parts of a cable connector are held together when engaged by a screwed sleeve 12 locked by a clicker mechanism consisting of a spring plate 24 surrounding the socket part and having its ends 24A bent to contact flange 10A of the socket part and its central parts 24B, Fig. 3, bent into V-shapes to co-operate with radial notches 12A in the end of sleeve 12. Central parts 24B have inwardly projecting portions which fit in axial channels in the socket part 10 to prevent rotation of the spring plate. As sleeve 12 is screwed home the spring plate is compressed until further screwing up of the sleeve becomes difficult. Specification 825,580 is referred to.
