Abstract

801,703. Two-part couplings. UNITEDCARR FASTENER CORPORATION: Oct. 11, 1956 [Oct. 19,1955], No. 31068/56. Class 38(1). The plug and socket of a coaxial connector are locked together on engagement by the cooperation of shoulders 44 on spring fingers 42 on the outer shell 40 of the socket 14 with a groove 24 in the outer shell 16 of the plug 12, the fingers 42 being locked in position by a spring-biased ring 22, a portion 30 of which overlies fingers 42 and prevents their flexing outwardly. The ring 22 is forced back by fingers 42 during engagement, but is released when the shoulders 44 snap into groove 24.
