Abstract

490,013. Two - part couplings. HERMETIC RUBBER CO., Ltd., and COLLEDGE, G. F. Feb. 5, 1937, No. 3423. [Class 38 (i)] Each member of a plug-and-socket coupling has a body of resilient material with a single central passage to receive the contact-carrying block and the leads connected thereto, the two bodies having interengaging flanges to act as a fastening to prevent accidental separation of the members. The bodies 10, 11 are, moulded from rubber and have internal shoulders 12, 13 by which the insulating blocks 5, 7 carrying the contacts are retained. One body 11 is formed with a rounded flange 15 and the other with a corresponding groove 18 that can be resiliently engaged with the flange 15 when the contacts are brought together. An extension 14 on each of the bodies reinforces the junction between the cable and the coupling part.
