Abstract

965,353. Two-part couplings. AMPHENOLBORG ELECTRONICS CORPORATION. Dec. 13, 1962, No. 47150/62. Heading H2E. The pins 45 of the plug of a miniature twopart connector, are held in position by expansible collars 39, which engage annular grooves 46 in the shank of the pin. The collars are formed integrally with the moulded nylon insert 11, and are surrounded by recesses 37. The insert is housed in a two-part metal casing 12, 13. In the socket arrangement, described with reference to Fig. 6 (not shown), the moulded insert is in two parts 23, 22, one of which includes the collars which secure the socket shank 74 and project beyond the surface while the other holds the socket sleeves 71 but, as described with reference to Fig. 7 (also, not shown), a collar which does not project beyond the face of the insert may be used for both plug and socket.
