Abstract

822,020. Inflatable suits. MINISTER OF SUPPLY. Jan. 18, 1957 [Jan. 4, 1956], No. 267/56. Class 141 [Also in Group XXIX] A pressurized aircrew garment 7, includes an inflatable valve 11 at the neck and similar valves 12 at the wrists connected to a waistcoat bladder 10 supplied, e.g. from the wearer's oxygen supply system through a manually or automatically controlled regulator valve. Air or other gaseous fluid is supplied under relatively high pressure to the garment through one or more supply points 14. When the pressure in the garment exceeds that in the bladder 10, the valves 11 and 12 cpen to allow the garment to "breathe".
