779,860. Protective clothing. UNION CARBIDE & CARBON CORPORATION. April 30, 1956 [May 2, 1955], No. 13126/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 141. A protective garment made of foam-pervious material is connected to foam-generating means so that an insulating layer of foam can be distributed between the garment and the wearer while a limited amount of foam escapes through the garment material. In a fireman's overall the foam-pervious layer is flame-resistant, and an inner layer of foamimpervious material may also be provided. The garment has an attached flexible pipe connected either to a main foam-supplying hose or to a foam container carried on the body, the flow of foam being regulated by a valve operated manually or by temperature responsive means.
