Abstract

732,248. Respiratory appliances. LONNE, F. Sept. 25, 1952, No. 24090/52. Class 81 (2). A respirator for use in dusty atmospheres comprises a cap or head band 2 supporting a transparent mask 6 which does not enclose the eyes and is open at the bottom. Within the mask nozzles 5, fed from a pipe 3, direct a stream of air downwards over the nose and mouth. The air is taken in through a filter 19 and is driven through the pipe 3 by a fan 18 connected to a motor 17, the motor being energized from a portable battery 16. A modified form of mask, which encloses the eyes, is described with reference to Fig. 3 (hot shown).
