743,619. Inflatable life-jackets. ELLIOT EQUIPMENT, Ltd. Nov. 19, 1954 [Nov: 3, 1953], No. 30363/53. Class 77 A life-jacket of the kind having inflatable chest chamber and collar comprises a piece of pliable, partially transparent material secured to one part of the jacket and adapted to be detachably secured to another part, the arrangement being such that when the jacket is in use and the material is secured to both parts it extends over the wearer's face and acts as a shield against water. A piece of hood-forming material 3 carrying a piece of pliable transparent waterproof material 4 is attached to the rear part of the collar 2 of the lifejacket shown. The material 4 is detachably secured to the chest chamber 1 of the jacket by snap-on fasteners 6 each engaging a stud on the chamber. When not in use the material 4 hangs down the wearer's back.
