Abstract
1,125,090. Cooling garments. LITTON INDUSTRIES Inc. 16 Sept., 1966 [20 Sept., 1965], No. 41581/66. Heading A3V. [Also in Division F1] Coolant is supplied to a space suit 50 by a pump 10 (see Division F1) actuated by the oxygen supply to the suit, the rate of supply of coolant being proportional to the rate of consumption of oxygen by the wearer. The suit has an integral coolant garment 90 connected by pipes 31 and 91 to the pump coolant outlet and coolant reservoir 40, respectively, and by pipe 26 to the oxygen outlet from the pump. Oxygen from a bottle 60 is supplied to the pump through a regulator valve 64, gas being exhausted from the suit through an over-pressure exhaust vent 63 in the helmet.
