Abstract

820,007. Transformers. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. Dec. 28, 1956 [Jan. 5, 1956], No. 390/56. Class 38(2). An intermediate-frequency transformer comprises several selfsupporting windings 8, 9, 10 made independently of the cylindrical plastic former 1 on which they are subsequently placed. The windings may be separated by insulating spacers 11, 12, 13 of paperbase or plastic material, and located by a drop of cellulose varnish or other adhesive. Dust cores 22 may be threaded into the bore of the former. The coil ends may be soldered to wires 21 extending between eyeletted holes 7 in former base 2 and holes 18 in an end plate 16 which fits on the reduced end of the former, and is located by a key on the former, engaging slot 20. The spacers may be omitted if the former is stepped to fit suitably dimensioned windings.
