Abstract

937,192. Electrical equipment chassis. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. March 17, 1960 [April 2, 1959], No. 11194/59. Class 37. A base-plate for supporting intermediatefrequency transformers is moulded with two parallel transverse recesses, one recess being moulded at one end of the plate, each recess being adapted to receive and locate a wireended capacitor with the wire ends of the capacitors passing over the base to be connected to a terminal board attached to the baseplate at the end remote from the outermost recess. A rectangular base-plate 1, having moulded recesses 2, 3 adapted to receive wireended capacitors 4, 4a, is provided with incisions 5 and pairs of parallel slits 8, 9. The respective wires of the capacitors pass along the slits 8, 9 to a terminal board 10, provided with a printed circuit, abutting upright 6 and held in position by tongue 11 passing through slot 12 ; the wires of capacitor 4a passing in the slots 7 and over the upright 6. After the wires are located in the slits 8, 9 heat is applied to points 16 to soften the base-plate and retain the wires of the capacitors 4, 4a in the slits 8, 9. The two coils 14, 15 of the transformer are mounted on the base-plate and soldered to the capacitor wires as shown in Fig. 1.
