Abstract
704,365. Printed circuits ; electric condensers ; couplings. STANDARD COIL PRODUCTS CO., Inc. Oct. 10, 1951 [Feb. 28, 1951], No. 23619/51. Classes 36, 37 and 38 (1) A printed circuit in which one or more conductors 110 are rigidly attached to an insulating base 104 is provided with a resilient clip for positioning a circuit component on the base and for connecting the component to a conductor. Components such as a disc condenser 100 and a tubular condenser 107 are held by resilient conducting clips 112, 113 and 108, 111 which are riveted or otherwise secured to the base 104 to make contact with the appropriate parts of the printed circuit and with the electrodes of the condensers. Slots 105, 106 may be provided in the base 104 so that the components may be accurately positioned therein without slipping through. A disc condenser may be mounted horizontally, the lower electrode resting on the appropriate part of the circuit, which may be formed in a recess on the board, and a spring clip making contact with the upper electrode. After assembly the components may be dip-soldered in position using conducting or non-conducting solder. A disc condenser may be provided with a number of conducting areas 143, 144, 145, 146, on one side of a dielectric disc 142, a silver coating over the other side of the disc forming a common electrode. Spring clips 150, 151, 152, 153 lead from the upper conducting areas to separate circuits.
