Abstract
867,060. Transformers. WIPAC DEVELOPMENT Ltd. Dec. 21, 1959 [May 22, 1959], No. 17607/59. Class 38 (2). A transformer suitable for use in an ignition system of the kind fed by discharging a capacitor connected to the primary winding through make-and-break contacts has a core 10 of ferromagnetic particles held in a binder or of ferrite &c. surrounded by a longer former 11 carrying a secondary 12 and a single-layer primary 13 connected to the secondary at 20 and to the lead-in 21. The inner layer 18 of the secondary has only a few turns. The h.t. lead passes out through holes 17, 15 in the former 11 and end plate 16. The paper layers 19 ... insulating the secondary winding layers extend to the end of the former as shown. The transformer is impregnated with solventless varnish.
