Abstract
846,208. Transformers. LANDIS & GYR A.G. Oct. 15, 1958 [Oct. 18, 1957], No. 32960/58. Class 38 (2). A high-voltage current transformer has its windings and core completely enclosed in thermosetting low-pressure casting resin 12 in which metallized potential surfaces are provided. The high-tension dielectric 8 is a resin casting sandwiched between high tension and earthed potential coatings 7, 9, each of which adheres firmly to the casting, the high-tension potential coating being initially detachably applied to a further casting 6 which embeds the high-tension winding 1 having leads 2, 3. The low-tension winding 4 is wound on a tubular insulator 10 through which passes an iron core 5 of stacked flat laminations and embedded in a cast cushioning material which fills cavity 11 in casting 8. In a modification (Figs. 3, 4, not shown) the secondary winding 4 is on a ribbon wound divided annular iron core 5 which interlinks with a narrow primary winding embedded as before.
