Abstract

1,055,808. Inductances. E. K. COLE Ltd. July 30, 1965 [Aug. 20, 1964], No. 33985/64. Addition to 962,009. Heading HIT. An inductance coil assembly comprises a rectangular block 1 of ferrite or dust iron material housing coils 3 mounted on a fixed ferrite or dust iron core member 4, the leads from the coils 3 being connected to tags provided by conductors 5 mounted in elongated grooves 6 in the block 1 (Fig. 3, not shown), and the ends 7 of the conductors engaging in a printed circuit board 8. The conductors 5 are retained in the grooves 6 either by adhesive coated insulating strips 11 or by metallizing the walls of the grooves and soldering the conductors thereto. A plate 9 of plastics material containing embedded magnetic particles is mounted above the block 1, and accommodates a threaded slug 10 to vary the inductance of the coils 3. A screening can 12 surrounds the complete assembly, and a capacitor 14 (Fig. 2, not shown) may also be provided in a recess in the block 1 and its leads connected to the conductors 5.
