Abstract
870,475. Inductors. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. Dec. 14, 1959 [Dec. 19, 1958], No. 42439/59. Class 38 (2). A variable inductor includes an insulating supporting plate 4 of ceramic material, having an internally threaded insulating tube 5 extending from its centre through a divided shell-type ferrite core 1 with a coil 2 in a recess. The core halves are glued together, and to supporting plate 4. A ferrite trimming core 8 is provided, mounted on a carrier 7 of nylon, threaded to screw into tube 5. A small part of the head of screw 7 may be conically threaded, or unthreaded. The top of screw 7 is grooved and the walls of the top part of groove 10 are made divergent to form tongues 11 which bear resiliently against the wall of tube 5 to retain the trimming core in position. A clamp 3 holds the assembly together while the glue sets, and terminals 6 may be used to secure the inductor to a base plate.
