Abstract
873,467. Inductances. COLE Ltd., E. K., and KING, A. E. May 16, 1960 [May 26, 1959], No. 17834/59. Class 38 (2). An inductance A, B mounted in a recess in a ceramic or other heat-resisting insulating base plate C has channel-shaped contact members E secured in slots in base plate C and protruding therefrom so that the unit can be plugged into a socket or printedcircuit panel. Two arms of the base plate are longer than the others so as to fit into slots in a screening can. The contact members are held in place by part shearing their longitudinal edges above and below the base plate and bending them as shown for the upper left-hand contact member in Fig. 1. The leads H (Fig. 2) of the coils are dip soldered to the ends of the contact members. The coil assembly may be coated with a plastic mass of insulated magnetic particles which may be squirted into the screening can. The Specification describes automatic processes used in the manufacture of the inductance.
