Abstract

942,162. Circuit assemblies. H.M.C. OF HARTFORD Ltd. June 6, 1962 [June 6, 1961], No. 20352/61. Heading H1R. A coil unit 1, Fig. 1, for an A.C. operated relay, comprises a relay coil 3 and a rectifying circuit 4, of the form shown in Fig. 4, connected to the coil, the unit being enclosed in a metal case 8 and having contact members such as pins 9, 10 which engage a receiving member when the unit is incorporated in a relay. The coil 3, which may, as shown, comprise a plurality of sections, is mounted on an internallythreaded tube 1a of, e.g. metal, which has flanges 5, 7a at its ends to engage retaining washer 6 and circlip 7. Rectifying means 4 may comprise miniature Si diodes which may be encapsulated. Fig. 2 shows a relay comprising a base member 11 into which unit 1 is plugged, switch mechanism, a metal case 12, and pins 13 for plugging the relay into a terminal block 15, Fig. 3, of insulating material such as nylon.
