Abstract

875,239. Magnetic data-storage apparatus. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 26, 1960 [April 28, 1959], No. 14486/59. Class 40 (9). Toroidal magnetic storage elements C are secured to insulating mounting boards 5, 6 by the connecting leads 13 from their windings which are passed through holes 12 in the boards and are secured to other winding leads or to terminals T1-T3. The leads are secured together by twisting and soldering on the facing surfaces of the boards which are spaced apart by blocks 8 and by stiff interconnections 11. The assembly is secured to a standard Post Office relay base-plate 1 by a T-shaped mounting plate 9 and may be modified for plug and socket mounting to avoid the provision of wiring 7. The assembly may also be encased or potted in a metal container.
