Abstract

771,934. Making insulated electrical apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 13, 1954 [Oct. 16, 1953], No. 29528/54. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXXVI] A transformer winding 1 or other operating element of an electrical apparatus, e.g. a condenser, is internally insulated and then placed within a mould 5. One or more terminal studs 4 are secured to the mould by screws 6. The winding 1 also may be fixed to the mould through the medium of supports 11, to which 1 is fixed, and screws 7. The parts being thus disposed, liquid thermosetting resin is poured into the mould and allowed to set, whereupon the screws 6, 7 are removed and the members 1, 4, 11, embedded in resin, are removed from the mould.
