819,636. Closets ; drainage. BAKER, A. A., and SCHMED, J. H. Sept. 9, 1955 [March 18, 1955], No. 25900/55. Classes 26 and 33. In a water closet and syphon leg combination the syphon leg 7 is adapted for installation in the hollow wall 3 of a building and has a serpentine intermediate portion for impeding the flow and ensuring syphonic action, with laterally extending ears attached to its upper end at 38 for attachment to the wall at 40, a forwardly extending portion 35 with ears (not shown) at its front edge for receiving bolts securing the pipe and closet (a third bolt 20 extends into the pipe itself), and a lower lateral portion supported on a drainage pipe 5. The fixing between syphon pipe and closet includes provision for various thicknesses of packing washers in order to allow mounting in walls of different thicknesses.
