Abstract
817,363. Zeroizing-mechanism. SODECO, SOC. DES COMPTEURS DE GENEVE. Aug. 19, 1955 [Aug. 25, 1954], No. 23930/55. Class 106 (1). In a counter the driving pinions are disengaged from the numeral wheels during zeroizing and the numeral wheels are held in the zero position by detents until the driving pinions are reengaged therewith. The first wheel. of the counter is driven by a driving pinion 21, Fig. 1, driven by a pawl and ratchet 29, 30 and a gear 20. The pinion 21 and the transfer pinions 24 are carried by a shaft supported in a frame 11 pivotally mounted on a spindle 28. Also pivoted on the spindle 28 are levers 5 and 8 the latter being connected to the spindle by a friction clutch 19 and both levers being urged clockwise by springs 9, 10, respectively. A shoulder 6 of the lever 5 normally retains a return-to-zero lever 4 in the position shown. To effect zeroizing a push-button 1 is depressed against the pressure of a spring 3 and effects inward movement of a spindle 14. The lever 8 is moved counter-clockwise and moves the frame 11 through the clutch 19 from the stop 12 to the stop 27 thereby withdrawing the driving and transfer pinions 21, 24 from the counting wheels. The continued inward movement of the spindle 14 effects counter-clockwise movement of a lever 15 about the spindle 31 and thereby tensions a spring 18. When a nose 16 of the lever 15 escapes from a pin 17 on the lever 4 the latter is suddenly moved by the spring 18 to strike the associated heart-shaped cam. As many levers 4 are provided as there are heart-shaped cams. In another embodiment, Fig. 2, the counter is of the escapement type. The transfer pinions 38 are carried by a shaft 39 which is supported in two slots 40, 41 in frame plates 42, 43 and is embraced by two U-shaped members of a frame 47 normally retained by a return-to-zero lever 49 in the position shown. The spring blades 52 are normally held away from the counter wheels but when zeroizing is effected by depression of the arm 54 the blades 52 hold the wheels in the zero position until the pinions 38 re-engage their driven gears. Specification 442,712 is referred to.
