Abstract

793,166. Counting-apparatus. SODECO, SOC. DES COMPTEURS DE GENEVE. March 12, 1956 [March 15, 1955], No. 7613/56. Class 106 (1). In a counter driven by the engagement of the ends 15, 16 of a lever with opposite projections of a star wheel 9, a braking spring is provided to prevent rebound of the star wheel. The star wheel 9 which has ten projecticns is fast with a pinion 8 having twenty teeth. The pinion 8 and a pinion 5 formed on the units numeral drum 4 are freely rotatable on a shaft 1 and are both engaged by a pinion 6 on a movable shaft 7 carrying transfer pinions for the higher orders. The actuating lever is rocked on receipt of an electrical impulse by an electro-magnet 10, whereupon the star wheel is partially advanced by the end 15, and then restored by a spring 14 to enable the end 16 to complete the step of movement. In one arrangement, the braking spring is in the form of a strip 21 which engages the teeth of the pinion 8 whereas in another arrangement, a spring washer is interposed between the pinions 8 and 5.
