Abstract
794,876. Counting-apparatus. VEEDERROOT, Inc. Aug. 24, 1956 [Sept. 8, 1955], No. 25914/56. Class 106 (1). [Also in Group XXXVII] A mechanism to close,an electrical circuit when a predetermined count is reached on a mechanical counter comprises a spring switch member 31, Fig. 4, secured to each number wheel and having wiper contacts 37, 38 adapted to engage contacts on a fixed stator plate 40, Fig. 3, juxtaposed to each number wheel. Contact 37 engages permanently with an annular contact 46 of the stator plate and contact 38 engages sequentially with contacts 50 to 59 of the stator plate corresponding to readings 0 to 9 of the associated numeral wheel. To operate the device so as to close the circuit between external leads 81, 82 at some predetermined count, the appropriate contact 50-59 of each denominational stator plate is connected to the annular contact of the stator plate of next lower denomination so that a series circuit is closed through the switches only when the required count is reached.
