540,857. Transfer mechanism. HILSON, O. V. Feb. 26, 1940, No. 3534, [Class 106 (i)] Comprises particular constructions of mechanism of the type in which a pivoted pawl lever is displaced against a spring. In one form with concentric dials, when the unit has made one revolution, an arm 9 in the wheel engages a pin 10 on a rocker member 5 pivoted at 6 and a driving pin 11 on this member moves the tens and hundreds which through a predetermined portion of the space of one tenth, the spring 8 pulling the member 5 back and a second locating pin 7 on the member completing the transfer. In a modification for pin wheels with parallel axes, a transfer pin on the lower denomination wheel on completion of a revolution engages a pivoted lever provided with driving and locating palettes at the ends and moves it against a spring to lift the locating end from engagement with the next wheel the other end driving this wheel through a predetermined portion of the distance between the pins and the return of the lever finishing the drive with the locating palettes.
