Abstract

310,401. Eacrett, A. L. Jan. 25, 1928. Zeroizing mechanism; counters of scoring type. -In a scoring device having several dials with ratchet wheels actuated in rotation by a master ratchet wheel and pawl, a total register and zeroizing mechanism are provided. The teeth of the master wheel are oscillated by a plunger which also engages a rod 106 engaging a lever 109 carrying a pawl 108 which actuates the ratchet wheel 115 of the units register. This wheel is held by a pawl 132 on a disc 36 carrying the pawls 35 of the several dials. Wheel 115 has an arm 122 actuating the tens ratchet 123 which is held by a pawl 133 and has an arm 127 engaging the hundreds wheel 128. Wheel 128 has one tooth 140 and a stop 136 engaged by a pawl 134 on a lever 119 actuated by a pin 137 on the disc 36. When disc 36 is rotated to free the pawls 35 of the several dials, pawls 132, 133 are also freed, and pawl 134 is freed by lever 119. Wheels 123, 128 are returned by springs, stop 136 engaging pawl 134, and wheel 115 is returned by a heart-shaped cam engaged by lever 119.
