Abstract

608,824. Counting-apparatus. LANDIS & GYR SOC. ANON. March 1, 1946, No. 6477. Convention date, March 13, 1945. [Class 106 (i)] Two contiguous counters are driven alternatively from a common actuating means, the actuation being changed from one counter to the other by a push-rod connected to a spring- controlled toggle lever. The movement to be counted drives a pinion 33 which through a planet-wheel 37 and sun-wheels 36 actuates one or other of two sleeves 34, 35 geared to a lower counter 4 and an upper counter 3 respectively. Detents 30, 31 on a rock-shaft 29 engage either one or the other of a pair of detent wheels 39, one on each sleeve 34, 35, whereby one sleeve is held and the other free, and vice versa. To change the actuation from one counter to the other, the push-rod 9 is pressed upwards to rock an arm 7 to lift a link 12 having a projection 15 engaging a wedge-shaped part 21 of a toggle lever 16 secured to the rock.shaft 29 and controlled as a toggle by a spring 17 to engage one or other of two stops 19, 20. At each operation of the push-rod the projection 15 co-operates with the wedge 21 in such a way that the toggle lever 16 is always moved from one position to another. The toggle lever also operates a disc 27 which indicates which counter is operative.
