Abstract
152,174. Avery, W. & T., and Burrows. J. J. Aug. 27, 1919. Counters actuated by reciprocating mechanism ; detent mechanism.-Means are provided for actuating counters in automatic weighing machines or generally, which give the required intermittent movement positively, and are independent of spring control. The propelling member 8 for engaging the pins 7 on the units wheel is guided by a slot engaging a fixed pin 12, and is pivoted at 14 to a motion-limiting member 15 having teeth 18, 19 to engage alternately the unit-wheel pins, the latter also engaging a stop 20 on the propelling member 8 so as to limit its movement. A spring- controlled non-return detent 21 may be fitted, but is not necessary. The motion-limiting member 15 is mounted on the actuating spindle of the counter by means of a set-screw.
