Abstract

816,802. Window fastenings. RASMUSSEN, V. B. K., [trading as RASMUSSEN & CO., V. K.]. Jan. 11, 1957 [Jan. 11, 1956], No. 1159/57. Class 44 Relates to an adjustment and locking arrangement for a window frame 2 tiltable about a horizontal axis with which the frame carries a stay 14 hinged thereto, which by being brought into engagement with an arresting member, such as a pin 15 located on the sill 1 of the window, enables the frame to be fixed in an open position and which during the last part of the motion of the frame in the closing direction thereof or after the termination of the closing motion, may be turned into a locking position for locking the frame to the sill. According to the invention, the stay 14 is so connected to a locking system carried by the frame and provided with locking members 4, 5 for engaging associated striking plates, that the locking members are brought into and out of engagement with the striking plates by the stay 14 being pivoted towards and away from its locking position. As shown, the rods 4, 5 are actuated by a locking mechanism 3 of known form. A shaft 6 extends from the mechanism 3 into a case 7 and is rotatable through bevel gearing 8, 9, by a shaft 10 on which is pivotally mounted a part 12 carying the stay 14. In the locking position, the stay is swung into the dotted line position. In another arrangement, Fig. 3 (not shown), the stay is pivotally connected to a part which is non-rotatably fixed to the shaft 6.
