746,075. Hinges. MATTHEWS, R. W., and FLUDE, H. Feb. 2, 1955 [Nov. 17, 1953], No. 31858/53. Class 65 (2). [Also in Group I] A gate, door or window is pivoted about a post 1 which has arms 3 and a collar 4 welded thereto and is keyed in concrete 2 as shown. The gate comprises a sleeve 5 which has a collar 7 and transverse bars welded thereto and is provided with a grease nipple 8. The opposed faces of the members 7, 4 may have a camformation so that the gate rises when opened; they may have a rib and groove respectively to interengage for determinging the closed position of the gate. The frame of the gate may be bent from tubular metal with the inner vertical limb forming the mounting sleeve. The members 7, 4 may be replaced by a ball-race and the main gate structure may be detachably secured to the sleeve by brackets thereon.
