Abstract

813,354. Mechanical couplings for cable sheathing. ENFIELD CABLES Ltd. July 29, 1957 [Oct. 30, 1956], No. 33129/56. Class 38 (1). The sheath 1 of a cable is anchored to the casing 12 of a plug, switch, junction-box, &c., by a resilient insulating sleeve 2 which surrounds and is bonded to the end of the cable, said sleeve having embedded in its outer end a ferrule 3 which is internally screw-threaded for engagement with a screw-threaded, tubular projection 13 on the end of the casing 12. The material of the sleeve 2 extends into the ferrule 3 so as to be engaged by the end of projection 13 to form a seal and the ferrule is locked in engagement with the projection by a transverse grub-screw 15.
