Abstract

795,072. Two-part couplings. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd. Oct. 24, 1956 [Oct. 24, 1955], No. 30369/55. Class 38 (1). A plug connector comprises a metal sleeve 14 loosely surrounding a body of resilient insulating material in which are embedded contacts 4 and the cable cores connected thereto and which is bonded to the cable sheath. Also moulded in the body is a metal ring 7 to which the earth core 10 of the cable is connected, the ring projecting above the surface of the body and being a sliding fit in the sleeve 14 so as to form a flame-proof barrier, said ring being detachably secured to the sleeve by screws 9 passing through the wall thereof. Preferably a second ring 8 is moulded in the insulating body in axially spaced relation to the ring 7, and has connected thereto the cable screen or screens 13.
