A compression joint between two stranded conductors as described and claimed in the parent Specification but modified in that the mandrel 4 has a central unrecessed portion 12 (Fig. 1) or in that the mandrel 4 is of uniform cross-section throughout (Fig. 3), a number of separate rings 5 being used.
