Abstract

811,190. Reciprocating pumps. SCHLOSSHAUER, A. R. Jan. 9, 1957 [Jan. 9, 1956], No. 875/57. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXXIV] A two-line lubricating system comprises a pump 1, having twin pistons 5, 6 and a piston valve 14, which feeds lubricant to a distributor unit 20. The pistons 5, 6 are connected to a pivoted lever 37 and when piston 6 descends it forces lubricant into a horizontal bore 13 containing the piston valve 14. The latter is then moved to the left and the lubricant passes through a conduit 18 to the distributor unit 20 forcing the pistons 39, 41 to the left in turn and ejecting lubricant through ports 29, 28 and 27 respectively. Lubricant passes from ports 27, 28 to lubricating points via conduits 46, 48 respectively and the lubricant from port 29 returns to the reservoir through conduit 19, annular passage 15 and conduits 16, 17. Lubricant from the end distributor 23 passes to a return valve 32, moves a piston 34 therein to the left and returns to the reservoir through a conduit 35 and a sight glass 36. The movement of the piston 34 to the left expels lubricant to a lubricating point via conduits 30, 43 and 44. If the lever 38 is moved to the other position the piston 5 forces lubricant into the passage 13 thereby causing the valve 14 and pistons 39, 41 and 34 to move to the right and lubricant to be expelled through conduits 45, 47 and 49. Lubricant is supplied on the suction strokes of pistons 5, 6 through conduits 9, 10 respectively. Specification 784,323 [Group XXXIV] is referred to.
