Abstract

805,850. Mechanical couplings for cable and wire armouring. HENLEY'S TELEGRAPH WORKS CO. Ltd., W. T., and MOOR, E. Dec. 11, 1956, No. 37870/56. Class 38 (1). A cable gland comprises a body 4 having spaced outer and inner integral sleeves 8, 5, respectively, the cable armouring 2 being clamped on to the conical outer face 6 of sleeve 5 by an internally coned ring 12 forced on to the armouring by a screw 11 screwing into the outer sleeve. Recesses 14 in the body provide for engagement of the gland by a tommy-bar so that an extension 15 may be screwed into a housing, and a sleeve 16, e.g. of p.v.c. excludes dirt and moisture.
