In a communication cable comprising a plurality of cores, each core 1 consists of two spaced, parallel conductors enclosed in plastic insulation, the cores being twisted at an appropriate pitch and assembled in an outer covering 2. The insulation may comprise a resin or rubber, or paper impregnated or coated with a resin or rubber, and may be applied to the conductor pairs by the longitudinal method. The individual insulated pairs may then be twisted and a number of such twisted pairs assembled together, or the pairs may first be assembled and the whole assembly then twisted.
