Abstract

872,706. Insulating cable and wire joints. PIRELLI S.p.A. Sept. 30, 1959 [Oct. 2, 1958], No. 33165/59. Class 38 (1). The joints between individual conductors of groups of conductors comprised in a multiconductor telephone cable are enclosed within a preformed sleeve of insulating material provided with passages each having a circumferentially continuous wall, the number of the passages being equal to that of the conductors in each group. Fig. 4 shows a four-passage sleeve threaded on a group of insulated conductors to be joined. The sleeves may be of plastics or paper, or the same material as that used for insulating the conductors to be joined. The sleeves may be cut to length, at the time of use, from a long length.
