869,250. Cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Sept. 4, 1959 [Sept. 6, 1958 (2)], No. 30247/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 36. A quad for a communication cable is made by extruding plastic insulation over the conductors so that they are symmetrically spaced about a central point by webs extending radially therefrom. The quad may be twisted during the extrusion operation and the spacing of the conductors may be chosen to give optimum capacitance conditions. The central portion of the insulation may contain an air space or a string. Specification 392,416 is referred to.
