A flexible conductor comprises a monofilament of prestressed synthetic resin and one or more thin flexible conductive tapes wound helically thereon. A number of such conductors may be twisted together and insulated to form a multi-strand conductor. The conductor may be embedded in a rubber or plastic moulding, for example, in the wall of a rubber hose.
