Abstract
657,379. Cables. CABLE MAKERS AUSTRALIA PROPRIETARY, Ltd. Feb. 18, 1949, No. 4431. Convention date, March 12, 1948. [Class 36] An electric trailing cable comprises a core 1 of elastic conductive material in contact with an earthing conductor 4 and insulated power conductor 3, the earthing conductor consisting of a flexible core 8 having a conducting covering 7. The conductors 3, 4, which have approximately the same external diameter, are laid around the core 1 and enclosed in a conductive screen 2. The core 1 and screen 2 are preferably made of conductive rubber, while the core 8 consistsof textile, rubber, plastic or the like and is preferably coloured for identification purposes. The cable is completed by an outer abrasion-resistant sheath 9 of tough rubber or the like, which may be applied over a layer of tape 10. The sheaths 2 and 9 and the core 1 may be reinforced with cords or canvas. Specification 526,895 is referred to.
