828,101. Cables. CROMPTON PARKINSON Ltd. March 11, 1958 [March 22, 1957], No. 9485/57. Class 36. A cable has insulated conductors 3 and an uninsulated earth conductor 11 embedded in two or more bodies 1, 2 of conductive rubber or conductive synthetic material. In section, the bodies 1, 2 are of semicircular or sector shape so that leakage currents from the conductors 3 to the earth conductor 11 do not cross a boundary between the conductive bodies. The latter may be amalgamated to form a single body or their surfaces may be left free to slide over one another when the cable is flexed. In the cable shown in Fig. 1 three of the conductors are employed in a 3-phase system, and the fourth as a pilot core.
