Abstract
800,499. Discharge tubes. TELEFUNKEN G. m. b. H. March 6, 1957 [April 9, 1956], No. 7413/57. Class 39(1). A getter 5 in series with a condenser 13 are together mounted in parallel across the cathode heater 8, the getter being fired by passing a high-frequency current. If the getter heater is of lower inductance than the cathode heater, most of the current will pass through the former. The getter heater and condenser may be so designed as to form a series-resonant circuit for the particular h-f frequency used. In a practical embodiment, Fig. 1 (not shown) the cathode heater leads are coaxial tubes, with the getter mounted between them. The condenser is formed by a metal sheet cemented to the inside of the outer coaxial tube, the cement acting as the dielectric.
