589,773. Discharge lamps. LUMALAM. PAN AKTIEBOLAG. April 4, 1945, No. 8279. Convention date, May 2, 1944. [Class 39 (i)] A fluorescent lamp 1 with filling of rare gas or mercury vapour has incandescent coil electrodes 3 and 10 and auxiliary starting cupshaped electrodes 2 and 13 acting also as cathode shields, the shield 2 being connected to the opposite electrode 10 through a condenser 9 and shield 13 to electrode 3 through a condenser 16. The condensers may be located in the caps of the tube or may be replaced by any impedance. The starting electrodes 2 and 13 have. coatings of emissive material.
