590,048. Discharge lamps. LUMALAMPAN AKTIEBOLAG. April 11, 1945, No. 8960. Convention date. April 27, 1944. [Class 39 (i)] A fluorescent lamp 1 has incandescent coil electrodes 7 each with a shield in the shape of a hood divided into two parts 2 and 6 lying around it to trap positive ions and prevent sputtering of the electrode material. Each half of the shield is connected to a feed wire of the electrode. A relay device 10 is included in the circuit. If desired, only one electrode may be shielded.
