Abstract

800,472. Reciprocating pumps. BECKER, F. W. Feb. 16, 1955 [Jan. 25, 1954], No. 2180/54. Class 102(1). Apparatus for delivering measured quantities of liquid comprises a cylinder 6 having an inlet port 9 communicating through a valve 22 with a container 14 and an outlet part 11 controlled by a spring loaded valve 30 slidable in the cylinder bore, communicating with a nozzle 13. The valve 22 is held open, by pressing a tube 27, during the initial charging. A piston 36 slidable in the cylinder 6 is connected to a beam 40 which is connected at each end to rods 42 of fluid pressure motors 44 controlled by a valve lever 50. The stroke of the piston 36 is limited in one direction by a collar 57 and is adjusted in the other by means of a bolt 54. The liquid in the container 14 may be loaded by a weight, air or liquid pressure. In a modification the piston 36 is hand actuated. The pump may be dismantled for cleaning and may be made of stainless steel.
