Abstract

1434739 Reciprocating pumps E KLESATSCHKE 8 Nov 1973 [9 Nov 1972] 51829/73 Heading F1A A pump for dispensing measured quantities e.g. of pastes or slurries, comprises a piston 2 which on initial inward movement into cylinder 1 returns material in pumping chamber 4 through inlet 6 into supply reservoir 8 until inlet 6 is closed by the piston, further movement then pressurizing the chamber contents to move a valve piston 3 against its spring 12 to open delivery port 5. On the return movement of piston 2 by spring 16, valve piston 3 closes port 5 and a further charge is drawn through inlet 6. Return stop 15 on valve piston 3 may be threaded for axial adjustment to vary the quantity dispensed. Spring chamber 18 has a vent 17. Spring 12 may be omitted and chamber 18 sealed to act as an air spring. Piston 2 may be operated manually, as shown, or mechanically, e.g. by an eccentric.
