Abstract

655,442. Liquid dispensing apparatus. GASKELL & CHAMBERS, Ltd. Sept. 29, 1948, No. 25422. [Classes 102(i) and 102(ii)] In a liquid dispensing apparatus, a pump cylinder 1 is secured to a base 2 on a counter 29 and the piston 13 is actuated by a lever 6 in opposition to a spring 5; an adjustable stroke limiting stop 9 is provided. A dispensing chamber 23 is provided below the base 2 and has an inlet valve 25 and is connected to the pump cylinder by a pipe 12. Enclosed by and concentric with the pipe 12 is a further pipe 12a that is fitted with an outlet valve 26 at the end within the chamber 23 and the other end is conencted to a delivery pipe 21. The arrangeemnt of the parts in this manner prevents a syphoning action. Alternatively the pipes 12, 12a need not be concentric but may be fiexible and connected to a nipple on the pump and two nipples on the chamber 23. A protective sleeve 31 may surround the pipe 12 and a support may be arranged beneath the counter for the container for the liquid to be dispensed.
